I also observed heavy footsteps from above and the constant creaking of the nearby stairwell door opening and closing next to my room. I was on the second floor at the end of the hall, so I did not hear noise from next door but there was a lot of noise from outside during the day, and the sounds of doors slamming were especially loud and woke me up early.
